Such are the comments from music teachers around the state who participate in the ArkMEA Capitol Concerts. Usually scheduled during the first or second week of March to kick off Music In Our Schools Month, the event is not only a unique performance venue, but promotes advocacy for music education in Arkansas.
Prominent Arkansans such as the Governor and other well-known arts advocates address the audience concerning the value of music in the schools' curricula. Ample media coverage makes the program a good public relations tool for participating schools.
